On Location - The Doll Hut
Sunday, June 18th, 2006“We’re all about live entertainment and original music, we have just a few rules: Come in, have fun and express yourself, but don’t kick anyone’s teeth in.”
That’s a direct quote from Tim Clifton, the current owner of the Doll Hut, taken from a recent article in the LA Times. And it’s a philosophy that has held true since the club’s inception in 1989 under it’s original ownership. The Doll Hut is a tiny little dive, holding no more than 50 or so people at a time, but it reputation is placed up there with clubs like CBGB and Whiskey-a-go-go. Staying true to its rockabilly, punk and countrified roots, they’re a staple in the underground music scene… as for sound I figured I’d ask around. (more…)
